Hebe 'Purple Haze' is an old time favourite amongst many Australian gardeners.
'Purple Haze' has copper coloured buds that open up to reveal an abundance of rich purple flowers that are offset by glossy mid green foliage.
Originally a native of New Zealand, Hebe's are renowned for their tough characteristics being tolerable of a wide range of conditions.
Grows well in most soil types that are well draining.
Prune to shape with hedging shears after flowering to encourage a dense habit.
Feed with a general purpose slow release fertiliser after flowering.
Medium water requirements. Once established, quite dry tolerant requiring only intermittent watering during extended periods of heat.
