Grevillea 'Fire Cracker' is nothing short of a spectacular explosion of red and orange flowers, highlighted against soft evergreen foliage.
One of the great benefits of this plant is that it flowers heaviest throughout the colder months from April to October (depending on location), when much of the rest of the garden is in dormancy. The plant is bound to brighten up any garden in winter.
‘Fire Cracker’ is an extremely tough plant, growing in areas which receive winter frosts right through to hot summers. With this degree of versatility, the plant is undoubtedly a tried and true performer for both home gardeners and public landscapes alike.
Extremely hardy in most soil types which are well draining.
Frost and dry tolerant once established.
Easy care, ‘Fire Cracker’ benefits from a light pruning after flowering at the beginning of spring, to encourage a dense bushy habit.
‘Fire Cracker’ should be fertilised each spring with a slow release specifically formulated ‘native’ fertiliser, according to manufacturers directions. If planted in a container, make sure you use a good quality potting mix that has been blended especially for native plants.
CAUTION - Skin irritant.
